More, the same source reports that State Duma Deputy Vadim Solovyov also complained to the Prosecutor General`s Office over the same thing one week ago, claiming that Microsoft infringes Russian laws by bundling features in the operating system that could be used to spy on users and the company should be fined and its software banned in the country.
Microsoft: “We`re giving choices to our users”
Microsoft hasn`t yet commented on these accusations, but the company has already explained that all these data collection features can be disabled if users want to, so their privacy is fully protected in Windows 10.
“Windows 10 puts customers in control by giving them choices about how information is used to deliver personalized services and experiences. We also offer customers a number of options in Windows 10 privacy settings to control any additional information they choose to provide,” the company said in a previous statement.
Disabling Windows 10`s data collection features can be done from the settings screen, but there are already several apps that can do this automatically with just a few clicks. Some claim that Microsoft also collects information in the background even if you disable all these features from the settings screen, so turning to third-party apps might be the only chance to make sure that your privacy isn`t violated when using the new operating system.
